The range of shots and the editing is superb and the part I particularly love is how the focus shifts in the photos. So there'll be three in a row that each have a different depth of field and highlight a different object in frame which gives a great almost tilt-shift look to it because it moves so fast.
I've embedded the video below and again taken a screen cap or two (though that was hard because the video was so fast!).
50 States in 14 Days - the picturevideo (48 states) from mikehedge on Vimeo.
Again, it features people, but with sound it's a lot more simplistic, just calm music running throughout in the background. The pictures do speak for themselves so it's good to have some sound but nothing distracting. This item below crops up in the video a lot as it's for the promotional item and so you get used to seeing it pop up a lot but in totally different locations, weather conditions. I liked the repitition, yet how it changes rather than just repeating for repeating's sake.

Imagery wise, you can tell the photographs are shot by a photographer and they are often visually compelling and very colourful which adds a lot to the video and how it transists from one image to the next. A lot of the images were nicely thought out and so it's a very photographic approach which I'm fond of.

I adored the framing and the colours in the short video below but it really was a little too slow and didn't go anywhere.

The framing and style on this video is also very interesting as is the jumpy pace. I liked the fact that because you're so close to the windscreen you almost get that driving simulation feel and when it looks like he'll crash into the various stores is interesting.Untitled from Charlie McCarthy on Vimeo.
