"Behind the windscreen"

Todd Hido is a photographer who caught my eye during a lighting project last year. His intriguing images fascinated me and I was reminded of several that are under his landscape project, but more specifically from the project, "Roaming". They were taken from a car, you get the impression that you're viewing exactly what he saw, through the barrier of glass.

I went back and looked at the photographs and since I'm
already doing a shoot tomorrow, I will experiment with my own photographs from behind the windscreen to see what I capture. This experimentation may have to wait until I'm not the one driving to fully develop as tomorrow I'll only be able to take them when I'm not driving.

Below are examples of Hido's work, as well as a quote explaining the images from the series 'Roaming'. Reading the interview with him that I found here was really helpful.

I have experimented with the idea of taking them through a window before. In 2007 I travelled twice a day to visit my Dad in hospital and found myself making images then. But they weren't really anything serious, however, I can take what I've learnt into making images now. Tomorrow I should be able to post some of the images I make.
